Dear Friends, December, 2018
So far Mary has given us the good advice telling us to allow God into our hearts and not to be afraid. Mary did both of those things well. Her actions showed us how to use her advice. Mary was a woman of action. She says very little in scripture, but after Christ, she has the most influence. She did not need words. She gave us, as any good Mother would, the perfect example of living God’s Word. Take some time to read the Christmas story in Luke 2: 1-20 and Matthew 2: 1-12. A lot of action is happening. In addition to the Holy Family the other characters in the story are the animals, the shepherds and the three Kings. All very different from one another. How did the Holy Family greet each of these visitors? We don’t know what they said, but they showed respect and hospitality. No one was better than the other. Mary’s advice, her example to us: all are called to visit her Son, Jesus. As we prepare our homes for our Christmas visitors, yes, even our in-laws or nosy neighbor, let us be as kind and welcoming as was Mary. Sometimes that gets lost in all the Christmas “stuff.” We don’t have to use words, just our hearts.
Remember the Giving Tuesday Nov. 27th. Campaign! Don’t forget to come visit us and that December 2nd is the French Toast Breakfast after the 8:00AM Mass. It helps to pay the light bill. We also get to see you!
If you can help us to prepare our Chapel by donating for flowers that would help us out too. We will also begin our Christmas novena for your intentions. See the flyer below for both activities.
Come to our 10:00 PM Christmas Eve Mass on Monday, Dec. 24th or 8:00 AM Mass Tuesday, Christmas morning! Masses from Dec. 25th up to and including January 1st will be at 8:00 AM. Pray for us as we pray for all of you.
Thank you and God bless you and all your loved ones,
Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity
