Norah Jones has been invited to perform the theme song to the film Ted at the 85th Academy Awards on February 24, 2013.  "Everybody Needs a Best Friend" features music by Walter Murphy and lyrics by Ted director Seth MacFarlane and is nominated in the Best Original Song category.  Jones teamed up with MacFarlane, who is hosting the Oscars, to sing the theme song.  She shares, "I had such a great time recording this song with Seth, and was thrilled to find out that it was nominated for an Oscar. Getting to perform it at such a prestigious event, which my friend is hosting, is a once in a lifetime opportunity."  This will be Norah's first Oscar performance.
