Birthday wishes to saxophonist Euge Groove who celebrates his 50th today (November 27).  Born Steven Eugene Grove in Hagerstown, Maryland, he attended the University of Miami School of Music and graduated in 1984.  In 1988, he joined Tower of Power replacing Richard Elliot on the saxophone and went on to release his first solo album, Euge Groove, in 2000.  Euge has toured with numerous artists over the years including Huey Lewis and The News, Richard Marx, Joe Cocker and Tina Turner.  His eighth solo album, called House of Groove was released September 25, 2012 and the title track has been #1 on the Smooth Jazz Top 20 chart for the past three weeks.  Euge kicks off a tour of the U.K. this Friday, November 30 at the Pizza Express in London.
