Over the years, Frisell has collaborated with musicians as disparate as Paul Motian, John Zorn, Elvis Costello, Ginger Baker, The Los Angeles Philharmonic, Rickie Lee Jones, and Vernon Reid. Much has been made of his eclecticism and musical kinship with Miles Davis—an unmistakable sound and disarming lyricism.
