The NTD Super Draft Tournament was organized to help softball players in extreme times of need. Last year, Justin Keichel, a long time league member, suffered a severe head injury while playing second base in the sport he loves. The injury required emergency surgery to repair a fractured skull. Because of the success we had in raising money for Justin we have decided to make this tournament an annual event that helps raise money for people in similar situations as Justin’s. This year we expect 200 or more players to be participating in this tournament and we know that our efforts in helping Justin were successful. Our plan is to continue this tradition every year and donate to worthy causes in our community.
The tournament is scheduled for April 6/7th. The tournament itself will take place at Mentor High School Ball Fields, 6451 Center St, Mentor, OH 44060.
The cost is $30 per person, the first 50 paid entries will receive an event shirt and an extra raffle entry. There is a 6 game guarantee over the two days
Last year's event had 8 teams, almost 100 players, countless fans, and TONS of support. We raised a lot of money for a great cause: Justin Keichel. For this year we are working on the creation of a legitimate non-profit group called "The Extra Innings Foundation". This foundation is being created to help other softball players that find themselves in situations that were similar to Justin's.
