Description
Akron General’s Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) Center for Loss and Hope is offering a free class on “Journaling Through Grief” May 9 from 2–3:30 p.m. at the Hospice of VNS Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Copley. Learn to use writing to help heal from and work through personal tragedy, loss, and grief. Writing can also give insight to encourage change and acceptance.
A free eight-week “Growing Through Grief Series” will begin on May 3 from 2–4 p.m. or 6:30–8:30 p.m. at the Hospice of VNS Care Center. The series is for those who wish to learn what they might experience during the grieving process. Group members share their stories, emotions, victories and hopes. Participants can expect to receive caring support from the group leaders, information on the grieving process, and tools for handling the normal grief response. The group will meet every Thursday for eight weeks; choose to attend either the afternoon or evening group.
Both classes are open to the community at no charge. Enrollment is limited, so please call to reserve a place. To register, or for more information on either group, or on other Hospice of VNS Bereavement support programs or individual grief counseling, please call 330-668-4662 or 800-335-1455, ext. 4662.
